Chitwan meaning "heart of the jungle" has a lot of things to do and so has in recent year’s tops the list of things to do in Asia. The wildlife adventure of Chitwan is totally of a different kind – whether it is jungle safaris on elephant backs or jeeps, canoe rides, bird watching and jungle walks all are totally different from others.


The Chitwan National Park which is Asia’s most excellent preserved conservation area just because at this park the wildlife flourishes with the surroundings remains undamaged and intact. To reach the park it took only half-hour flight from Kathmandu. The park through which the the Narayani, Rapti and Reu rivers are flowing lies in the inner Terai lowlands and consists of Sal forests, tall elephant grasslands, hills, ox-box lakes. The Chitwan, the park spreads over an area of 932 sq. km and is enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Natural) in 1984.


Climate:

Chitwan has a sub-tropical climate with hot and humid summers and mild winters.
