Important tips before you travel

Before You Travel, Remember Your Visa (and I don't mean your credit card)
What is the foremost thing that comes in our mind or that we all do before planning a trip out of the country? First of all we check the best time to visit that particular place then we check the airfare, and last but not the least the hotel rates? But the foremost thing we should check first is visa and passport requirements because all the above things will become immaterial if we don’t have a passport and a Visa. We all very well know that for entering any foreign country we need a passport, but visas are a different issue, and are equally important.

A visa is nothing just an approval or sanction issued by the country which you are going to visit, that permits you to travel to that country. If visa is required by the country which you are planning to visit, and if you don’t have a visa, you will not be allowed to enter that country. Necessity of Visa is not universal; generally foreign countries want visitors to get visas, but not the others.

Why the countries like the USA want visitors to acquire visas, reasons are many. It helps them in knowing who is the new in their country. Whenever visa is obtained, it provides extra screening and background checks, and the ability to verify against international "No-Fly" databases. These information help in controlling entries into countries and will be easy to locate a traveler for various reasons including personal, legal, etc.

Normally, a visa is stamped in a passport, and so, the Embassy or consulate will require your passport to affix the visa. If the foreign country which you want to visit doesn't have a consulate near you, then in that case you will have to mail your passport to them, thus the chances of fraud will be removed. Visa is something which can’t be acquired easily so always keep in mind that sometimes it can be acquired in several seconds, sometimes in several days or even will take several weeks to acquire visa. Sometimes visas are obtained upon entry, but often they must be obtained weeks before.

For sanctioning a visa each and every country has its own requirements, application forms and fees. To get a visa a passport with at least six months validity left on it is in general is required, an application form duly filled with necessary and relevant information, and a fee, ranging from $20 to several hundred dollars and two passport size photos are required.

Whatever problem you face for acquiring visa there will be travel planners and visa service companies to assist you and to answer all your questions, but at the end of the day, your visa, which is much like your passport is totally your responsibility. Instead of going to a consulate we will recommend you to get your tourist visa services or visa formalities done through a private third-party. They are always faster than the consulate directly, and have more accurate tracking of your visa application. My company, LGBT India Tour can also help you in getting your tourist visa as per your requirement.

You have to plan for your passport and visa from the very beginning, as we all very well know that different countries have different passport and visa requirements, with different fees and processing times. It could take you several weeks to obtain a visa, acquire extra pages for your passport, or to obtain a passport with a later expiration date. Without a visa you cannot go to visit a foreign country so with a little planning you can get a visa easily and be on your way.

Sometimes the country you are visiting does not requires a visa, then in that case your passport should have at least two blank pages and should be valid for at least six months after your planned departure from the country you are visiting. Some countries will not let you in if your passport does not meet this criteria, and your passport itself should be in as perfect condition as possible. Yes, technically a country can deny your entry if your passport is damaged, although it would have to be severely damaged for this to generally be enforced.

Lastly, check also for vaccinations that may be required to enter or pass through any given country. Check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website to see what the requirements are for the destination(s) you plan to visit.
