Over packing is one of the biggest mistakes which we all do while travelling. Over packing shows how less organized you are. Unnecessarily you are carrying extra weight. All of this just adds stress, nothing more. But what is more worrying is that there will be no space in your bag to bring back the things purchased abroad.
Tip: Put everything you are thinking of packing on your bed, and then remove a third of it.
What we all do is we reach the airport in the last minute the result being either we miss the flight or even if we get the flight the whole situation becomes very stressful. The result being a stressful start of a wonderful trip. This we do generally because what we feel is that nothing is as worse as getting to the airport too early and having too much free time at the airport.
Tip: Don’t think like that rather think this in a different way. Do reach the airport early all set with things to do, and use this as some nonstop time to get some work done or enjoy yourself with your favorite book or game.
If you forget to inform your credit card companies about your travelling then you won’t be able to purchase anything from your credit card because once they see one or two purchases done from your card abroad then may suspend your card and then it will become difficult and time consuming for you to get your credit card opened again.
Tip: This can be avoided by just informing the credit card companies before you leave.
It is common knowledge that the right camera angles and lighting can make virtually anything look radically different. Hotel rooms can look twice as large, and that view of the refinery can be blurred out. Food can photograph better than it tastes. Actors can be hired to look happy doing anything.
Tip: Talk to a travel planner who has recently been to the destination and/or call the local tourism bureau.
Sometimes what we do we just pack the very essential items in our checking luggage? Suppose your luggage doesn't make the flight or goes missing, the result being a disturbing or even upsetting vacation.
Tip: In addition to packing all medication in your carry-on bags, also pack a simple change of clothes and your favorite time-killer in your carry-on bag.
It is often seen that people plan their vacation with their friends. Just because you are friends, doesn't mean you are good travel buddies. When you travel with friends with negative thinking throughout your vacation there will be a stressful situation. Rather you should travel with someone who travels with a "team" mentality, and is if possible as open to trying new things as you are.
Tip: Before taking a long vacation with someone, start with a one or two night getaway and test the waters.
It is good thought to consult friends and families as to where to stay and what are the things to be done at the desired destination. But sometimes what we do is that we totally depend upon them and enjoy our vacation as per their suggestions and miss out the experiences which we would have if decided on own, as well as we decide the accommodation as per their suggestion and the result being the kind of accommodation which we have selected are not at all liked by us. They may indeed know the best place, or they may not, and besides, this is your vacation, not theirs.
Tip: Consult with several friends who have been there, and supplement this with your own research, such as what you might find from a Travel Agent, Trip Advisor, or elsewhere online.
Sometimes we people do the thorough research of the place, hotel and tours we are going to experience but forget to research the means by which we will get there. We never enquire about the airline, and also the type of plane, whether meal is provided or not, whether onboard facility of wifi is there or not, etc. all theses have a great impact on your flight.
Tip: Before flying, check the airline website and be confirmed about the services they are offering. Choose the flight only after being fully satisfied
This is the most common mistake which we all do. We generally forget to pack the charger or adapter and this is something whose substitute cannot be easily available. Your camera or any other necessary device will be totally a waste if the same won’t be charged and this way your vacation will spoil.
Tip: The earlier you pack, the less likely you are to forget anything, because in the days leading up to your trip, as you remember things, you simply place them in your bag. If you travel often, you may wish to consider buying extra chargers for the things you use most, and when you come back from a trip, don't unpack them, nor your adapter.
We take holiday just because we want to be alone for some time from all our daily routine and also from our work and also we want a sort of refreshment for ourselves. Vacations help us in finding out how people do without us both at home and at workplace. While on your vacation, if you make yourself too accessible, then you will not be able to enjoy your trip and will keep each and every people whether at home or at workplace totally dependent on you forever.
Tip: Provide the contact information of the hotels where you will be staying to loved ones and business associates, and with the strict warning that you should only be contacted in cases of emergencies, and that you will have limited access to email and phone.
